My Tiny Fall Front Porch

Hello, Dear Ones! I showed you the front of our house decorated for Fall in an earlier post and today I want to show you my tiny little Fall porch.

Those little scarecrows are still making eyes at each other. Look at the little girl on the right. Little stinker.

Now my house is tiny and my front porch is tiny too! It's not really a porch but a stoop. I went to Falling it up the best I could.

I went out to get my Fall wreath I had made last year from the garage and Mr. Precious had sat a cardboard box on top of my wreath! Good Grief! Well, I was a smarty pants last year and had just poked the stems into the grapevine wreath and everything was falling out. So I straightened all of the stems and hot glued them down this time, made a new bow and I think it's prettier this year than last! I'm so talented like that! :)
I poked a few little pun'kins here in front of the side light window.
Fuzzy picture alert! Here is a little wire Fall hanger that I hung up on the side of the wall so hopefully this will make people smile who walk up to my door.
Hope you've enjoyed seeing my tiny little front porch! Oh, well you just come right on in. Willow Dawn will be happy to visit with you. Yep, that's me and I ain't got no shoes on...I'm barefootin'!

As always, be a sweetie,

Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~ I couldn't resist

Barefootin'

Everybody get on your feet
You make me nervous when you in your seat
Take off your shoes and pat your feet
We're doing a dance that can't be beat
We're barefootin'
Barefootin'
Barefootin'
Barefootin'
Went to a party the other night
Long Tall Sally was out of sight
She threw her wig, and her high sneakers too
She was doing a dance without any shoes
She was barefootin'
Barefootin'
Barefootin'
Barefootin'
Hey little girl with the red dress on
I bet you can barefoot all night long
Take off your shoes and throw them away
Come back and get them another day
Barefootin'
Barefootin'
Barefootin'
Barefootin'
Lil John Henry he said to Sue
If I can barefoot, you can barefoot too
Sue told John, I can get out here and groove
I was barefootin ever since I was two
Barefootin'
Barefootin'
Barefootin'
Barefootin'
Take off your shoes and dance
Barefootin'
Barefootin'
Barefootin'
Barefootin'

It's Trying To Be Fall Outside, Y'all!

Hello, Dear Ones! It doesn't feel like Fall around here but I'm doing my best to make it look like Fall.

If you followed me on my old blog that bit the dust, you'll know we moved back to Texas and now have lived here almost three years. We love it. We love Texas. We love South Texas. It's hot. It's humid. But it's home. This is the smallest house we've lived in in over 40 years! Wah! I'm not complaining, I'm just still adjusting to NOT having much storage. Any way...

Well, I just had to get my cuteness on and placed these little scarecrows out front and a few pun'kins. These little scarecrows are a couple and they are constantly making eyes at each other!
Moving up the front walk you'll see my tiny little flower bed. the vibrant pink knock out roses are very tired now and their blooms looks all washed out. My periwinkles bit the dust and so I planted some white mums. The mums are surrounded by a border of puffy grass. Then I found this cute little sunflower Welcome sign at Hobby Lobby and poked it right down in the dirt!
We are a very Patriotic family and usually have our flags flying! That window is Mr. Precious' office and I don't know why he had his blinds closed. I guess I had better go inside and check in on him.

Hope you've enjoyed seeing my little house with Fall on the outside.

I'm joining My Wee Abode/Bluesky At Home/Thistle Key Lane for Tuesdays At Home

And as always, be a sweetie,

Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

"When The Leaves Come Falling Down"

I saw you standing with the wind and the rain in your face
And you were thinking 'bout the wisdom of the leaves and their grace
When the leaves come falling down
In September when the leaves, come falling down

And at night the moon is shining on a clear, cloudless sky
And when the evening shadows fall I'll be there by your side
When the leaves come falling down
In September when the leaves, come falling down

Follow me down, follow me down, follow me down
To the place beside the garden and the wall
Follow me down, follow me down
To the space before the twilight and the dawn

Oh, the last time I saw Paris in the streets, in the rain
And as I walk along the boulevards with you, once again
And the leaves come falling down
In September, when the leaves come falling down

Follow me down, follow me down, follow me down
To the place between the garden and the wall
Follow me down, follow me down
To the space between the twilight and the dawn

And as I'm looking at the colour of the leaves, in your hand
As we're listening to Chet Baker on the beach, in the sand
When the leaves come falling down,
Woe in September, when the leaves come falling down
Oh when the leaves come falling down
Yeah in September when the leaves come falling down

When the leaves come falling down
In September, when the leaves come falling down

When the leaves come falling down in September, in the rain
When the leaves come falling down

When the leaves come falling down in September, in the rain
When the leaves come falling down

Is It Fall Yet?

Hello, Dear Ones!

Hope you're all doing well. I know Autumn is almost upon us but here in South Texas - it's still so very hot! So I thought I would show you around the back yard a little. Seems like we really should be a little farther along back here but it is what it is.

Our backyard is very small and this big ole oak tree is front and center. We lost everything back here last winter with the freeze except the tree of course. So I planted a few little edging grasses and elephant ears. I know they have a fancy name but I call them elephant ears. Well these puppies are at least 5 feet tall! I'm 4' 11" and they are a little taller than me! They are certainly the stars of this bed!

We found this cute wind whirly at Costco! Just love that place.

A friend gave us this banana tree plant last year. We thought it was dead from the freeze but it came back. We haven't taken very good care of it though and it should be in the ground.

There's Bunny Foo Foo peeping through the ears.

Did I show you the ears? :)

Then...early Spring, Mr. Precious and I started rebuilding the fence! We did a pretty good job! More to go after it cools down a bit.
More purchases from Costco. We found these nice sliding chairs and little table. It's really too hot to sit out here right now and enjoy them so maybe as it cools down we can.
One more look at our greens. This is what you see when you step out of the back door.

Willow Dawn wants to say hi! She is 4 1/2 years old now and my complete little darling.

Okie dokie. I guess I'll stay inside with the air conditioning on till the leaves start to fall!

Hope all is well with you all and as always...

Be a sweetie,

Shelia :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

The Green, Green Grass of Home

The old hometown looks the same
As I step down from the train
And there to meet me is my mama and papa
Down the road I look and there runs Mary
Hair of gold and lips like cherries
It's good to touch the green, green grass of home
Yes, they'll all come to meet me
Arms reaching, smiling sweetly
It's good to touch the green, green grass of home
The old house is still standing
Though the paint is cracked and dry
And there's that old oak tree that I used to play on
Down the lane, I walk with my sweet Mary
Hair of gold and lips like cherries
It's good to touch the green, green grass of home
Then I awake and look around me
At four grey walls that surround me
And I realize, yes, I was only dreaming
For there's a guard and there's a sad, old padre
On and on, we'll walk at daybreak
Again, I'll touch the green, green grass of home
Yes, they'll all come to see me
In the shade of that old oak tree
As they lay me
'Neath the green, green grass of home
~ sung by Tom Jones
